so my cool cult brother claus and i are back from prague and back on earth...
we were at the venue (archa theatre) soooooooo early coz we couldn't wait for the show to start. but we got our places in the front row and i
wouldn't leave that great spot in front of ians mic anymore for a beer or cigarette or a pee ;-).
a press photographer liked claus' billy duffy look and asked if he could make a pic of him! He even photographed the austrian flag we put over the
front barrier (to be seen on a photo on facebook http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1061868&l=28b4897ec5&id=1590278916)
the whole place and the stage were very small, so you could see EVERYTHING. niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. we were afraid that the huge speakers in front of us
would blow our brains out of our ears but when they started playing we were surprised and glad that the sound was PERFECT!!! Never had such a great
sound at a cult show esp. at the front.
We didn't know or look at the setlists from the shows before - there were no 'surprises', but of course we still loved each and every song.
Lil' Devil
Electric Ocean
The Phoenix
Rain
Sweet Soul Sister
The Witch
I Assassin
Edie (Ciao Baby)
Everyman and Woman Is A Star
Nirvana
Spiritwalker
Rise
Dirty Little Rockstar
Fire Woman
Wild Flower
Encore:
She Sells Sanctuary
Love Removal Machine
Phoenix made my whole body shiver again, it's still my favourite, the guitar and the 'fire' goes so deep inside my stomach, it feels so fucking
good. I'd like an extra-long version of phoenix as last encore :-) EMAWIAS was a highlight, loved the live version, esp when chris and billy sing
along 'weight of the world keep us all down.... the last 4 songs could be changed from time to time, but i don't want to complain ;-) i'm just
happy i can see them live at all!
Billy had his usual troubles with the guitar and sound technician but played like a guitar god. ian sounded perfect aswell. drank red bull and kept
his sunglasses and hoodie on. he was in a great mood, i think he liked the place and the audience.
he said things like being happy they play in prague, that finally after 20 years they were fucking booked in czechia, that instead of cocaine czechia
has poetry, that rise is a song for men with small dicks and women in case they have small dicks, that he wants to see us fucking dance and much more
i couldn't understand.
second or third pause inbetween songs ian pointed at claus and said to billy 'look that's you'. billy smiled to claus, coz he knew him already from
vienna and berlin (he seems to be really noticable with the billy 86 hairstyle ;-)). i think ian also said 'great hair style. rocknroll' but claus
remembers that better than me I hope, although he had more drinks... ;-)
at the end john threw a drumstick to him and he caught the setlist aswell!!!
while waiting for the band to come out somewhere we met some other nice cult fans from poland and czechia. 4 men in 'conservative' clothes, with
cameras, asked us if we know the band or know where they stay. very suspect. one of them told us he interviewed ian in the 80s when he was much
thinner LOL. when we found the stage truck we got tambourines, only the 'cult destroy knebworth' shirts which some of the crew wore, noone would be
willing to give us :-(.
2 hours before the concert a guy gave us a flyer of a club saying that the band will be there after the show. We didn't quite believe it, but as the
night was young and we needed a few beers to 'calm down' from the emotional and energetic 'high' you have after jumping, dancing, singing,
screaming, enjoying a cult show in front row... we grabbed my husband and a taxi...
everyone except ian was there :-) i think claus had the time of his life! the band loved him :-)
(photo that mike took http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6851818&id=526227488&ref=mf#!/p... )
I just had short hellos with mike and chris, coz I didn't want to make my husband upset and jealous. While my love and I sat at a table drinking and
talking (funny to sit near the loo entrance and watch john and chris needing it often and each time more drunk ;-) - claus was with them most of the
time! He just came by shortly to tell me the newest news and was gone again. I was very happy for him!
Had to explain to my husband what it is like to be a 'fan' and why fans behave so strangely excited and childish. LOL. He still can't understand
it. Then he chatted and made jokes all the time with Adrian (the drum technician, very nice guy, irish humor :-)) and so this time I was the only one
NOT talking to anyone of the band.LOL.
today waking up with a beer-hangover, aching body and a 6 hour drive in summer heat i'm glad to be home, and proud I can remember so much with that
lazy brain ;-)
CFFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.
glad you enjoyed, everyone is getting good times this summer - and to me, it really seems like the band are in their stride and enjoying
themselves.
Even the Kerrang review of Knebworth Sonisphere (apart from the odd jibe at Ians weight and banter) asid they were the best band on the stage that day
- positive reviews in the UK press.... not somehing seen in a while !
